Description
After a long day practicing painting with acrillic paints and how the shades can blend together to make brilliant coloration, I decided to make a new collection called Real in Rio - I'm making new birds as realistic as I can, of the Rio movie parrots. (And many others that are not shown in Rio)
This one is a Spix's Macaw, the breed of Blu and Jewel in the movie. Although Blu and Jewel are brightly colored, (Probably for the sake of a colorful movie) Real Spix's Macaws are a blue-ish grey, and have dark black feathers on their tips of their wings and tail. I studied the picture of a Spix's macaw in my " Birds of South America" book, and carefully painted as I saw. The bird itself is made of Model Magic Modling Clay, and the whole drying process, painting, sculpting and varnish took me about three days and 6 hours. Hope you like him! (Sorry about the long description)
